Set in the Old West, the story revolves around Sabata, Lee Van Cleef, a sharpshooter and gambler who is hired by a group of townspeople to protect their bank from a ruthless gang of outlaws. Sabata employs his expert marksmanship and cunningness to outwit his enemies, all while dealing with double-crosses and unexpected alliances.
