Saints of Swing with Miss Rene Bailey featured in Lydia’s next Jazz Soup session

Lydia’s Café’s Jazz Soup has tasty jazz and soups featuring seafood gumbo, 7-10 p.m. Saturdays, at the café, 7 Old US Route 209, Stone Ridge. The next Jazz Soup session will be held on Saturday, July 27 and feature Swing, Jazz, romantic ballads, Motown, and Gospel with the Saints of Swing with Miss Rene Bailey, featured vocalist; David Winograd, bas and/tuba; Dale DeMarco, sax, clarinet, and vocals; Peter Tomlinson, piano; Larry Balestra, drums; Barry Bryson, trumpet and vocals; and Ken Foy, trombone and vocals.

“Rene is the real thing,” said Jazz Soup Session host, Mark Usvolk. “She sang with Louis Armstrong and Sam Cooke, among many others.”

The patio will be open for quiet conversation and the music will be indoors. There will be two soups (one of which is their signature seafood gumbo), a build your own salad, homemade desserts, and an occasional surprise, all on a self-serve basis. No reservations, no cover.
